Work Experience
"I'd like to thank you personally for this amazing program. We talk a lot to our kids about responsibility, respect and the importance of being a part of a community. Well talk only goes so far with kids; they need to do it to learn it. This program has allowed (our son) to experience the pride that comes from being responsible, being respectful and being a part of the community. Thank you for this positive life shaping opportunity."

In SSIA’s Work Experience program, 8th-12th grade students learn about career and job opportunities through a hands-on experience working with neighborhood businesses and community organizations. Students observe, work and participate in a variety of sites ranging from law offices to high tech businesses to retail shops. Through daily journals, interviews, photography, and other media, students document their experience, culminating in a final presentation to peers, teachers, and the community.
