Mid-Winter Break Art Classes
Looking for something fun for your child during mid-winter break? These very cool art classes are designed and led by Center High School students. Each of the classes will include all the materials, instruction by one or more very talented Center students, a snack, and adult supervision. Classes designed for 3-5th grade students. Choose from 3 different classes. Cost is $25/class. Each class size limited to the first 10 registered students.
Each class will run from 9-noon Tuesday, Feb. 16, Wednesday, Feb. 17, and Thursday, Feb. 18. All classes will be held at the Center School in the Seattle Center House.

Everyday Math Workshop for Parents
Led by John Hay head teacher Kari Hanson and Lawton 4th/5th grade teacher Lily Ulmer, this 1 ½ hour workshop will help you better understand Everyday Math curriculum, providing tips, tricks and resources, and enabling you to better help with math at home. Transitioning to High School
A forum for families of incoming high school students, this is a great opportunity to hear from parents and students from different area high schools. Date and more information coming soon.
Writer's Workshop for Parents
Led by Blaine principal Heather Swanson and McClure principal Sarah Pritchett, this 5-week session offers an opportunity for parents to learn new writing skills utilizing the same curriculum that is taught in the schools. Along the way instructors will offer useful suggestions for working with your child.
Cost is $50 for 10 hours of instruction. Class size limited to the first 20 who register.
Classes begin on January 14th, and run every Thursday evening for five weeks through February 11th . 7-9 pm. First class will be held at Catharine Blaine.

Art Teachers Collaboration
Art teachers from six SSIA schools are collaborating to create greeting cards showcasing student art from each of the schools. Card packets will be sold as a joint fundraising effort to benefit school arts programs. Check back for more information on purchasing these beautiful card packets!
