Collaborative Conversations

Teachers have collaborative conversations.
"This was the best professional development opportunity I’ve ever participated in! I wish we could do this weekly."

In 2009-2010 SSIA is hosting a series of Collaborative Conversations that include a range of topics for families, teachers, and community members. Collaborative Conversations include community meetings, small group discussions, hands-on workshops, and educational forums. For a complete list of topics and the schedule of Collaborative Conversations for 2009-2010, see Collaborative Conversations 2009-2010: Topics and Schedule

We are dedicated to helping facilitate collaborations between parents and teachers from different schools because we believe we all have a lot to learn from each other. Whether it’s third grade teachers discussing their experiences with Writers Workshop, Music teachers from our partner schools planning a joint music festival, or parents talking about how to share resources, SSIA’s Collaborative Conversations continue to open doors and create new partnerships. In the 2008-2009 school year SSIA hosted Conversations ranging from Transitioning to Middle School to Arts Integration to The Struggling Reader.
