Spring Work Experience
This spring seven SBOC students from Afghanistan, Sudan, Vietnam, Mexico and Tibet are learning about different work opportunities, gaining hands-on practical experience, and practicing their English through SSIA's Work Experience program. We greatly appreciate the businesses and organizations who are hosting students:  Bayview Manor Health Center and Physical Therapy, Blue Highway Games, Four Winds Imports, the World Language program at Catharine Blaine K-8 school, and Zeeny Teja Orthodontics.
Spring Debate Underway!
"The City of Seattle should close the Woodland Park Zoo and increase funding for wildlife habitat conservation in Seattle."
This is the resolution topic that 4th and 5th grade students from four elementary schools are learning about in preparation for this year's final debate tournament. Students gather evidence, practice public speaking, and learn to think quickly and critically in order to respond to their opponents. The final tournament will be held on Saturday, June 6th at Coe Elementary. For more information or to volunteer as a tournament judge, please visit our website:
