McClure PTSA Grant Supports
SSIA Math Tutors

In a strong show of support, the McClure PTSA has decided to allocate their entire tutoring budget of $5,000 for the 2009-2010 schools year to SSIA to provide math tutoring for students. The caliber and reliability of the tutors, as well as the level of supervision and accountability provided by SSIA, were cited as the primary reasons leading to the decision to grant the funding solely to SSIA rather than utilizing a variety of different resources.

McClure Math teachers have expressed that they find the Math Tutor program an extremely valuable resource, stating: "The student really began to grow and show progress in math", and  "If it weren't for the SSIA tutor, the student wouldn't be doing much of anything. She needs the relationship as well as the academic help."

With this additional funding support, SSIA expects to be able to provide over 30 hours each week of trained math tutoring to our partner schools.
